We don't claim to know everything about O'odham him:dag nor to define it for anyone but ourselves. We are always learning and in a process of decolonizing, revitalizing, and relearning. Traditions are not static and we practice our ways with courage and critical thought, recognizing that some ways we inherited from our elders are not healthy for our future generations, and we commit to creating a more balanced world through O'odham traditions, spirituality, and ways.
As a movement led by O'odham u'uwi, we do not tolerate sexism, heteropatriarchy, transphobia, homophobia, mactivism, lateral violence, and toxicity. We ask all who stand with us, O'odham and non-O'odham, to respect Indigenous women, femmes, two-spirit peoples, and all of our community members. We reserve the right to call out problematic behaviors that harm our communities and to take appropriate action needed to protect the sanctity and safety of Indigenous spaces and organizing. We must heal ourselves as we heal the land and abolish borders.
